Drowning

So we were at Meijers, getting groceries. My dad and I were in the car waiting for my mom to finish shopping. My dad texted my mom to hurry up. Twenty minutes later, she still didn’t text back. Then something scary happened. In the distance we heard sirens. I thought that they were just passing by. But then I saw two ambulances. They pulled up in front of Meijers. That’s when I got deep in thought. My mom is not texting back and is in Meijers. There are ambulances in front of Meijers. What do you think I was thinking? I thought my mom died. Then I started drowning in my thought. Who’s going to take me clothes shopping? I’m the only child and my mom usually takes me. Before I knew it I was crying. My dad didn’t notice because the music was too loud. My mom eventually came back, but I was still crying. For I was drowning until I choke.

Deep down

I just realized my mother and I are alike in one way.

She was driving me to guitar lessons. We were listening to "You and I" by Lady Gaga off the radio. Were about half way through the song when I look over at her and she's crying.
"Really?"
"What?"
"You're crying."
"Just thinking"
And that's the Clair family for you. When deep and thought, all emotions show. Laughter or tears.
